PanIIT 2004 (http://www.paniit2004.org) was held in New Delhi on December 24th and 25th. Over 2500 IIT alumni attended the event - which had close to 100 eminent speakers - ranging from His Excellency, President APJ Abdul Kalam, to Sunil Mittal - last year's Entrepreneur of the year. The conference had a total of 15 sessions on topics ranging from the Future of Computing to Rural development. All the sessions were well attended. IIT Bombay had a stall in the PanIIT exhibition, which was visited by the President.
Alongside the event - the Delhi Chapter had its annual meeting at 5 pm on the 24th of December 2004. Prof Ashok Misra chaired the event along with Mr Anil Kshirsagar from the IIT Bombay Heritage Fund, USA. Close to 50 alumni attended the Delhi Chapter meeting. A working committee is being formed with one rep each from each 5 year block (one from a batch between say 1980 and 1985 and so on). The meeting was followed with an extensive interactive session with the President (see President APJ Abdul Kalam's PowerPoint Presentation for IITians ), a fusion dance performance by Sonal Mansingh's troupe, cocktails/dinner and night long singing to bring Christmas in.
